This primer seminar provides preparation time for participants enrolled in the GLP India program. It introduces participants to the importance of thinking globally while leading locally. Over the course of two days the seminar encourages participants to ground themselves in clear understanding of what leadership means to them and how this is demonstrated in a globalised world. We lay the groundwork for participants to become more deeply aware of India’s unique development journey and leadership models. Program presenters share insights about India’s recent history and its diversity and complexity of cultures. Participants are introduced to historical and contemporary conceptualisations of yoga as an example of Indian thinking and being. The seminar also discusses the role that the private sector has played in India’s economic development and the role that government plays in broader society.
The seminar also provides an introduction to Bangalore, India and the Welingkar School, where participants will be based while in India and logistical briefings to prepare participants for their trip to Bangalore.
